Year 4 Curriculum Newsletters

As you know, learning may look a little different this year but we still have lots of exciting topics to study – Blue Abyss, Burps, Bottoms and Bile, I am Warrior, Potions, Misty Mountain, Winding Rover and Traders and Raiders and we cannot wait to get started! Our curriculum newsletters will give you more information about each of the topics as we study them so keep your eyes peeled!

One of the other focuses this year will be on learning all of those times tables so make sure that your TTrockstars account is working well and that you are learning the times tables each week and then practising them to make them speedy as this will definitely help you to be successful in those times tables tests each week!

Other online learning platforms that are available are Bug Club for Reading and Mathletics for maths practise as well as Seesaw where you can find your homework.  If you are having any issues with any of these, please email Year4@harrowlodgeprimary.com we will try our best to help you.

We look forward to working with you all this year!

This half term our topic is Potions.

Potion: a poison, a mixture, an aromatic brew, a vapour, a liquid or sticky goo.

Welcome to the amazing magical world of potions and their properties…

Now scientists, beware! There are some powerful and deadly potions out there – dangerous, unpredictable or plain tragic (just ask Romeo and Juliet!)

Use what you know about materials and their properties to create incredible potions in Professor Hazard’s Potions class.

Feeling sleepy? Hmmm – that orange juice did taste a little strange…

Please see below for home learning ideas. We would like you to choose one activity from the sheet and upload your work onto Seesaw.

Yesterday, Year 4 had a fantastic start to their new topic, The Blue Abyss, studying creatures found in the sea. They loved observing and handling the fish and looking at the different features that make them unique.
