PERFORMING ARTS

Our Performing Arts club covers all aspects of performing – singing, dancing and acting.

During their time in these classes, students will train in Modern, Commercial and Contemporary dance, Acrobatics, Drama and Singing.

  • Our main goal is an ‘end of year’ musical show. This year, we will be performing ‘Matilda’. These productions are a very special time for all our students as they come together, share their skills and inspire each other in a supportive environment.
  • The students will also have the opportunity to see ‘Matilda’, the musical, in London’s West End on Thursday 11th January.
  • We will be attending Young Voices concert at the O2 Arena, in January 2024.
  • There may also be opportunities for competitions or local performances within our community.

Through class participation, the students will develop substantial dance knowledge which instils confidence and independence in their performance work. They will gain physical strength and co-ordination and learn dance structures and combinations, time signatures, musical rhythms and performance skills – all of which will improve their ability to retain and recall information.

Listening skills, confidence-building, social skills, self-discipline, improved posture, dance technique, flexibility, muscle development, improved general health and well-being are all positive qualities gained through membership of our club. In additional to all this, from our experience, students develop lifelong friends.
