CURRICULUM

The Greatfields School Curriculum

The curriculum at Greatfields will be designed to challenge and stretch all of our students. There will be three distinct pathways followed by students: the Ebacc pathway for students who have performed well at Key Stage 2 and have aspirations to pursue highly academic GCSEs, A levels and then go on to university. We envisage the majority of our students following this pathway. Our vocational and alternative provision pathway will be for those students who wish to pursue a more vocational route post-16, and this will be a rigorous pathway with all students taking the core subjects of English, maths, science and a language as well as the option of pursuing two more vocational subjects. Our final pathway is our inclusive pathway for those students who have literacy and numeracy needs and will need extra support in the early years at secondary school. They will pursue the core subjects along with the rest of the school but will be taught in a smaller group with a higher level of support.
